Jamshed Yusupov is the executive director of the Zarafshan Tourism Development Association (ZTDA). Under his leadership, the organization actively develops community-based tourism in the Sughd region, providing local residents with employment opportunities and preserving cultural heritage. Jamshed pays special attention to environmental issues and the creation of sustainable tourism infrastructure that contributes to the development of the region.

Tour schedule
Day 1
Meeting in Dushanbe. Visit to Hissar Fortress (100 km), lunch at local teahouse, return to Dushanbe. Visit Antique Museum (Buddha in Nirvana), evening city tour. Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 2
Visit Nurek hydroelectric dam (250 km). Return to Dushanbe. Visit Kokhi Navruz Palace. Dinner at restaurant. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3
Drive to Iskandarkul Lake (200 km). Trek to Snake Lake & Fann Waterfall. Visit Saratog village. Dinner & overnight at homestay.
Day 4
Transfer to Panjakent via Madm village. Master class & Navruz celebration. Dinner in teahouse. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5
Tour of Panjakent, Ancient Panjakent, and Sarazm ruins. Traditional pilaf tasting. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6
Transfer to Seven Lakes (80 km). Visit Mizhgon, Soya, Hushyor & Nofin. Bread baking master class. Dinner from organic vegetables. Overnight at homestay.
Day 7
Visit Padrud, Khurdak, Marguzor & Hazorchashma lakes. Picnic at Hazorchashma. Return to homestay. Overnight.
Day 8
Transfer to Khujand (380 km). Visit Mazori Sharif Mausoleum and Shahriston Pass. Lunch with smoked meat. Dinner & overnight in Khujand hotel.
Day 9
City tour of Khujand: Panjshanbe bazaar, Arbob Palace, museum, ikat workshop. Master class: cooking Oshi Palov. Folk show & dinner. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10
Transfer to Uzbek border at Oybek (120 km). End of the tour.
A teahouse is a traditional Tajik space, beautifully decorated with carved wooden pillars and bright ceilings. Enjoy tea on a kat — a raised platform for eating or relaxing.
Palov is a beloved daily dish in Tajikistan, made of rice, carrots, onions, and meat. It tastes best eaten with your hands — like locals do!
