Jamshed Yusupov is the executive director of the Zarafshan Tourism Development Association (ZTDA). Tour schedule
Day 1
Visit the UNESCO-listed ancient settlement of Sarazm (5500 years old) and the Ancient City of Panjakent. Lunch at a traditional teahouse with Panjakent pilaf. Afternoon transfer to Nofin village near Seven Lakes (55 km, 1 hour). Walk around the lake. Dinner & overnight at homestay.
Day 2
Morning hike to the Duoba Gorge (2–3 hrs). Lunch at the homestay. In the afternoon, discover how local mumiyo (mineral pitch) is prepared in the village. Free time before dinner.
Day 3
Hike through the authentic village of Padrud to the 7th lake – Hazorchashma (9 km, 3 hrs). Stop at the summer pasture, picnic lunch by the lake. Return via the 6th lake to Nofin for dinner and overnight.
Day 4
After breakfast, transfer back to Panjakent. End of the tour.
Legend of Shing: Long ago, a farmer had seven beautiful daughters. When he refused a cruel sorcerer’s hand in marriage, the sorcerer turned the sisters into the Seven Lakes… This is how legends live in the heart of the Fann Mountains.
